West Lothian primary school 'deliberately' set on fire

A PRIMARY school in West Lothian was deliberately set on fire, police have said.

Emergency services were called to reports of a blaze on the roof of Toronto Primary in Livingston at around 8.30pm on Saturday.

Four fire appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.35pm on Saturday, June 20, we were made aware of a fire in the Toronto Avenue area of Livingston.

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished. There were no reported injuries.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
