Young Australian Cassie Porter continues to impress on the LPGA Tour as she eyes a maiden victory at the Meijer Classic in Michigan.
In her second year on the premier women's tour, the 23-year-old shot a three-under 69 including six birdies at Blythefield Country Club on Saturday to be outright third, just two shots behind leader Jing Yan (68) going into the final round.
Porter, who tied for ninth in the ShopRite Classic last week and boasts four top-10s, had four birdies on the front nine in a hot start to her round.
"The back nine the greens started to firm up," said Porter.
.Also seeking a first LPGA Tour win, 30-year-old American Yan birdied the par-5 18th to cap her second straight bogey-free round to get to 14 under, one shot clear of young English star Lottie Woad (68).
