Will England vs Ghana suffer storm delays like France and Iraq game?

Harry Kane prior to the game between England and Ghana at World Cup 2026.

England take on Ghana at Gillette Stadium tonight, and after France saw their game stalled for more than two hours on Monday, fans are a lot more attentive when it comes to weather reports.

A lot has been made of the heat during the World Cup 2026, with the much-maligned hydration breaks intended to combat that.

However, extreme weather hit Philadelphia for the France vs Iraq clash with torrential rain and a thunderstorm causing the match to be paused. Will the same happen to England?

The bad news is Boston, where the England vs Ghana game is being hosted, is expected to be hit by rain and stormy weather tonight.

However, the good news is that the conditions are not expected to be as extreme and we should not see any major interruption to the schedule of play.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Rob Megnia, there will be rain showers and potentially thunder, but he and those keeping an eye on the weather are "not overly concerned."

Conditions in Boston will be warm and wet, with temperatures in the low 70s during the day before dropping into the 50s through the night.

It is thought we could see an inch and a half of rain during the course of the match, but play will not be stopped for that.
