VALORANT Patch 13.00 notes: Summit, Retake, Sentinel buffs, and reduced Initiator cooldowns

VALORANT Patch 13.00 marks the beginning of V26 Act Four. Apart from a new map, Summit, and Retake mode, the update shakes up the meta with buffs to Sentinels and Initiators, giving both roles more agency.

Here’s everything included in VALORANT V26 Act Four (Patch 13.00) on June 24.

All changes included in VALORANT Patch 13.00

Summit is the new map in V26 Act Four. It’s a scenic map set in China with droppable walls as a unique mechanic. Shooting the node connected to the wall drops it and cuts off sightlines until the end of the round.

With that, Summit enters the Competitive map pool alongside Sunset, replacing Fracture and Pearl. During the first two weeks, RR losses on Summit are reduced by 50 percent, while gains remain the same. There’s also a Summit Only Swiftplay queue for you to learn the new map.

Retake mode

Retake is a 3v3 bomb mode where the Spike is already planted. One team holds the site, and the other must retake and defuse the Spike. Sides swap every round, and the first team to win five rounds wins the match.

As of launch, Retake features Ascent, Bind, Haven, Summit, and Sunset, with more maps coming later. Each match is played on a single random site, and Spike locations are randomized from a curated pool per site.

Sentinel buffs

Sentinels have been on the back foot in the past few patches, and 13.00 brings back some of their strength to control sites and improve their kill potential. This includes reduced windup time for Cypher’s trips and increased fire rate for Killjoy’s turret.

Cypher

  • Trapwire : Reduced windup from .9s to .7s.

Killjoy

  • Turret : Rate of fire increased by 50 percent.
  • Nanoswarm : Duration increased from 4s to 5s.
  • Alarmbot : Movement speed increased by 50 percent.

Veto

  • Interceptor : Reclaim cooldown reduced from 30s to 20s.
  • Crosscut : Usable area increased from 24m to 30m. Arming time after placing was reduced from 1.5s to .75s.

Sage

  • Healing Orb: Self Heal-Over-Time has increased from 50 to 100.

Deadlock

  • GravNet : Cooldown reduced from 60s to 50s.

Initiator cooldown changes

At the end of 2025, Riot increased Initiator’s signature ability cooldowns (like Skye’s Guiding Light) to 60 seconds, making every use more deliberate. With 13.00, those ability cooldowns are reduced to 50 seconds, and Gekko’s cooldowns after reclaiming abilities have also been reduced.

Sova, Fade, Skye, Breach, KAY/0

  • Signature ability cooldown reduced from 60s to 50s.

Gekko

  • Ability cooldowns after reclaiming his buddies reduced from 20s to 15s.

Bandit buffs

Bandit changes are intended to make the sidearm more viable outside the pistol rounds. Improved recoil should make the gun more reliable while maintaining its mechanical mastery when compared to Ghost and Sheriff.

  • Recovery from .45 to .4
  • Tap efficiency from 3 to 4
  • Pitch recoil at max down from 4 to 3

MMR changes

Following up on the previous MMR adjustments, Riot is adjusting the RR calculations to make you feel a little less stuck if you’re winning matches. On PC, Riot is also making changes to ensure the average rank of each team is within one division. This means if you’re Gold 2, the other team’s average rank should also be within Gold more often.
