The Dance of the Dragons is far from over in new House of the Dragon season 3 trailer

House of the Dragon.

House of the Dragon season 3 is back – and after the Battle of the Gullet kicked things off to a massive start, it looks like things are only going to get bloodier as the season continues.

A brand new trailer dropped after the premiere, teasing everything else that's still to come in season 3. Spoilers for episode 1 follow…

In the Battle of the Gullet, Rhaenyra's oldest son and heir, Jacaerys Velaryon, was tragically killed. In the trailer, which you can watch below, we see the fallout of his untimely death, with Rhaenyra mourning her son and accusing her allies of betraying her.

We also see more of James Norton's Ormund Hightower, and it sounds like he's not a fan of Rhaenyra. Then, there are flashes of more battles to come, more dragonfire, and Rhaenyra in the Red Keep.

At the end of House of the Dragon season 2, Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra struck a deal: Alicent would allow Rhaenyra to take King's Landing to end the war, though Aegon would have to die. However, Aegon has fled with Larys Strong, which could cause issues for a grieving Rhaenyra…

As for the Battle of the Gullet, that particular clash made some major changes from the book, including the absence of Rhaenyra's youngest sons, Aegon and Viserys. How the rest of their story plays out remains to be seen, since they are currently absent – along with Joffrey Velaryon, the new heir.

House of the Dragon season 3 continues weekly on HBO in the US and HBO Max, Sky, and NOW in the UK. You can keep up to date with our House of the Dragon season 3 release schedule. For even more, read our House of the Dragon season 3 review.
