UBON RATCHATHANI: The Department of Medical Sciences (DMSC) has launched a pilot programme to enhance early dementia risk screening using innovative biomarker technology.
Rolled out in collaboration with the Interior Ministry, the Public Health Ministry, and local health networks, the initiative in Health Region 10 serves as a proactive model destined for a nationwide expansion.
The programme focuses on biomarker-based screening to drastically improve detection accuracy among older adults. This approach supports personalised health planning to effectively slow disease progression, with Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) playing a vital role in reaching at-risk elderly, providing counsel, and linking them directly to health services.
