In the late 1960s, the actor David Burke was a member of the company at the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh, under the formidable creative team of Richard Eyre and Clive Perry.

There, he benefited from the opportunities provided by a rep company, now no longer seen, alongside his wife-to-be, Anna Calder-Marshall, and Brian Cox.
