KEIR Starmer is expected to make a statement regarding his future on Monday.
It comes amid intense speculation he is preparing to resign as Prime Minister after coming under mounting pressure from Labour MPs and Cabinet ministers following Andy Burnham's victory in the Makerfield by-election.
Burnham is widely expected to launch a leadership challenge once he retakes his place in the Commons.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly vowed not to walk away from his post, even as public talk of a leadership contest or handing power to Burnham gained pace among Labour figures Burnham's win.
But reports over the weekend suggested he was considering his future while staying at Chequers with his wife and children as the number of Labour MPs calling for him to go topped 100.
As of 9.15am on Monday, a lectern had been placed at the door of Downing Street and the media was gathered to watch the Prime Minister speak.
There is no set time for the statement yet.
How to watch
Starmer's statement will be broadcast on all major news channels including BBC News and Sky News.
It's possible the speech will be shown on the 10 Downing Street YouTube channel as well.
The National will also be running a live blog as he delivers his speech from Downing Street.
