India asks citizens in Iran to avoid non-essential travel despite improved security situation

The Embassy of India in Tehran has issued a revised travel advisory for Indian nationals, saying that while the security situation in Iran has shown signs of improvement, Indians should continue to avoid all non-essential travel to the country until further notice.

According to the embassy, it has been closely monitoring the situation in Iran and noted "recent positive developments and the improvement in the overall situation." However, it advised Indian citizens against non-essential visits to the country despite the easing of conditions.

Advisory for Indians in Iran

The embassy said Indian nationals currently residing in Iran, as well as those who may need to travel there for unavoidable reasons, should exercise a high degree of caution. It asked them to remain vigilant at all times, maintain situational awareness, closely follow local developments through credible sources, and comply with instructions issued by local authorities.
