Homicide Squad release CCTV: home invasion murder investigation continues

HOMICIDE Squad detectives have released CCTV as part of an investigation into the savage fatal stabbing of a man in Argenton earlier this year.

Police believe the attackers arrived in a vehicle outside the house on the corner of Waratah Street and Montgomery Street about 4am April 19, forcing their way inside.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, was stabbed multiple times and left for dead while the group fled.

Emergency services were called and paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he died before they could transport him to hospital.

Detectives are investigating what led to the murder and why the man had become the target of a brutal home invasion.

They have now released CCTV of a man they are seeking to identify.

IN NEWS TODAY:

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, believed to be aged in his early 20s, with a thin build, and blond hair.

He was last seen at a service station in Mayfield wearing a black jacket, black pants with a white graphic, a black cap, and black shoes.

As investigations continue, anyone with information about the incident, or who may have mobile phone or dashcam vision that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00
