GTA 6 Release Date Confirmed
Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 will launch worldwide on November 19, 2026. The company also clarified that there will be no early access period, meaning all players will begin the game on the same release date.
Preorders Open June 25
According to Rockstar, preorders for GTA 6 will begin at midnight local time on June 25, 2026. Players who preorder the game will also be able to preload it starting November 12, giving them access to download the game ahead of launch and jump in immediately once it goes live.
Pricing: $80 Standard Edition, $100 Ultimate Edition
Rockstar has set the standard edition price of GTA 6 at $80, marking one of the first major AAA releases to exceed the current $70 industry standard.
A premium Ultimate Edition will also be available for $100, offering additional in-game bonuses. These include extra gear, clothing, vehicles, and other exclusive digital items.
The Ultimate Edition is also expected to grant access to special in-game services, such as exclusive vendors. These reportedly include a dedicated car modification shop, tattoo parlor, clothing store, and salon, each offering unique content not available in standard gameplay.
Preorder Bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack
Players who preorder the game and purchase it before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. This bonus pack includes cosmetic items inspired by the franchise’s iconic 1980s Vice City setting and its legendary character Tommy Vercetti.
Single-Player Focus Sparks Online Speculation
Rockstar’s official description highlights that GTA 6 features a “single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.” This wording has sparked speculation that the game may launch without a fully developed online mode, similar to how Grand Theft Auto V initially debuted before GTA Online expanded its multiplayer ecosystem.
However, Rockstar has not confirmed any details regarding a potential online component.
Industry Impact and Pricing Debate
At $80, GTA 6 becomes only the second major AAA title to adopt the higher pricing tier, following Nintendo’s Mario Kart World. The decision is already being closely watched across the gaming industry, as several publishers have previously considered raising prices before retreating due to consumer pushback.
Industry analysts suggest that despite the higher cost, demand for GTA 6 is unlikely to be affected significantly, given the franchise’s massive global fanbase and long anticipation cycle.
With its record-breaking expectations, GTA 6 is widely expected to be one of the biggest entertainment launches of the decade, and Rockstar’s pricing strategy could potentially influence future AAA game pricing trends.
