Civic metal pole attack sees man arrested

A man has been arrested after allegedly attacked another man with a metal pole in the early hours of Friday in Civic.

ACT Policing said about 2.05am, police received reports of a disturbance on Alinga Street involving a man allegedly attacking another man with a metal pole.

Police attended shortly after and located a 29-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, still in possession of the metal pole.

Officers directed him to drop the weapon and he was arrested without further incident.

Investigations into the incident are continuing, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has mobile phone footage from the Alinga Street area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
