- Many authorities, including Cheltenham , Somerset and Bristol , are starting collections as early as 4am.
- The measures have been put in place to protect refuse workers from the hottest part of the day.
- Some councils, such as South Gloucestershire and Shropshire , are also prioritising certain waste types, the latter temporarily suspending garden waste collections.
- Residents are advised to put out their bins earlier than usual to accommodate the revised collection times.
